Solar Water Heating Study Berkeley Electric Cooperative is taking applications for homes to install a few solar water heaters for research purposes.  The following are the general criteria: Single family (single story) home with southern facing roof space that is not shaded. Families with 3 to 6 people in the home over the past two years and plan to be in the home for the next 2 years Accessible home design to allow for the solar panels to be piped to the water heater for storage Replacing storage electric water heater system The study will be open to 5 homes in the BEC service area and all the equipment cost will be paid by the Central Electric Power Cooperative.  This is funded by a federal grant through the S.C.
