Berkeley Electric Cooperative has taken a leadership role in the Economic Development efforts of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Our staff works closely with Economic Development professionals in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties to insure that our industrial and commercial prospects and existing customers considering expansion, receive the information and assistance they need in a concise, timely manner.
Expertise
Our dedicated team of Economic Development professionals, led by Mark Gaddy, Manager of Economic Development, consists of a rate specialist, engineers, and an account manager who understand that thorough, reliable information coupled with quick turnaround are essential to industry decision makers considering our area. We pledge to provide unequalled customer service to insure that your experience with Berkeley Electric Cooperative is both productive and pleasurable.
Incentives
For qualified industrial customers, Berkeley Electric Cooperative also offers financial incentives to assist with certain infrastructure costs and rate incentives to lower an industry's demand charges in the first 3 years of operation. Berkeley Electric’s assistance, both financial and technical has been instrumental in attracting such industries as Corning, Corning Cable Systems, Parker Hannifin and Quoizel to our service territory. We are proud of our efforts to help bring these new industries and the jobs they create to our communities, and we are equally proud of the close relationships we share with these customers long after the location process is completed.
